Arts and Humanities

The arts touch all aspects of our being and have always been considered a vehicle for the expression of the soul. Reputable studies are linking the arts to improved reasoning, memory, and improved academic success. Our organization is using the arts and humanities as a tool to encourage self-expression, community building, and family strengthening. The East Valley Family YMCA is making the arts more accessible to people in the community.

->Dance and Theatre

Our high energy performing arts program is designed to break students out of their shells and learn how to get down and boogie! Our instructors are professionally trained with performing backgrounds and will encourage discipline, teamwork, fitness and build confidence through the performing arts.

->Studio Art

We offer a studio art program that is available to both children and adults. Beginning to advanced drawing and painting classes are offered by our professionally trained and field experienced instructors. Through pencil and/or paint, our students will learn how to create anything from cartoons to real life people on paper. These classes are designed to tap into the student’s creative talent.

->Free Arts Clinics

Not sure what art classes to take? Not to worry. Two weeks before the official session starts, all our arts classes will be offered for FREE. Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the instructors and decide if the class is right for them!

->Arts Showcase

All arts students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of their family and friends at the end of the program sessions. Art students will showcase their work at a specially designed art gallery. Performing art students will present a recital.
